In our contemporary world there is a huge emphasis on Climate Change, less of an emphasis on Biodiversity and a de-emphasis of History.
Apart from the core subjects of Language & Communication, Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Science; History should be awarded priority over all other curricular subjects.
Environmental Studies, ought to place Biodiversity on an equal footing with Climate Action. Responsibility for self-care and care for our heritage must be included too, in this subject.
It is imperative that we retain History as a subject in Schools’ Curricula and give it a higher priority than at present. We must, study, analyze and learn from History in order avoid past mistakes and to create a better future for our children. We, ought to learn lessons from the past and consequently go forward with a resolve to leave a positive Footprint on this beautiful Earth that we inhabit.
